Introducing Carmel Chiropractor, Dr. William Yadon

I cannot remember when they started, all I can remember is having headaches as a child at least once a week. I was a very active kid who enjoyed playing all sports except on days I had a headache. I would avoid all activity and lay around the house waiting for the pain to end. Imagine being 9 or 10 years old not wanting to go outside to play? I would complain to my parents and I was always asked what I had taken to ease the pain. My parent’s solution to all aches and pains was some sort of pharmaceutical remedy. No matter what kind of pill my parents gave me, my pain never went away. In the end, I stopped taking any of the medicine they suggested because nothing ever worked. I learned to deal with the chronic pain.
It all changed the summer of my senior year in high school. A new family moved into our church and I later met what came to be one of my closest friends, Mike Chan. His dad was a Chiropractor. Mike would see the difference in the days of no pain and the days of headaches and encouraged me to see his dad for help. I did not take him up on his advice until after twisting my back while playing some backyard football. I went to see his father, Austin Chan.
The first thing he did after he examined me was take x-rays of my lower back, which was the site of my main complaint at the time. I never told him about my headaches because by then I just accepted the pain and figured it was a normal part of life. After he reviewed my x-rays, he told me that he could help with my lower back problem and then asked if I ever got headaches. My eyes lit up and I asked him why. He showed me the x-ray of my neck and showed me that my neck bones ( vertebrae) were misaligned or subluxated. I then told him of my weekly history of headaches since I was a child. After that, he explained to me that through the adjustment, he would be able to correct the subluxation (or misalignment) and bring relief to my complaints of headaches and low back soreness. Just after a couple treatments, I could tell that something was changing. I noticed that my headaches decreased in frequency and intensity, and eventually stopped all together. I have forever been grateful for Mike and his father moving into my life.
I am originally from Kent, WA, which is about 20 minutes south of Seattle, WA. I graduated from Kentridge High School and afterward, I started my undergraduate degree in a small college in the high desert of southern California. I enjoyed it but I soon transferred to a college in Utah. I was attracted by the snowboarding in the winter and the rock climbing in the summer. After finishing college, I was accepted and started Chiropractic school at Palmer West College of Chiropractic. Palmer West is a sister school to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. I chose Palmer West for two reasons: one- Dr. Austin Chan, the first Chiropractor who adjusted me went there, and two- his son and my best friend, Mike Chan, went there as well.
Once I graduated, I started to practice in California but the call of Seattle was too great to ignore. I moved to Washington to work with my friend, Mike in his dad’s clinic. It was at this time that I met my wife and in the fall of 2006 we were married. My wife is originally from Kentucky and had moved out to Seattle. After spending a couple years in the great Northwest, we felt a need to move East. After spending some time in my wife’s home state, we eventually met up with Dr. Karen at Indy Sports Chiropractic in Carmel, IN.

Away from the office, I have a very active life. I have two kids, a 6 year old and a 7 month old. I get a lot of practice in my profession by adjusting my family members regularly. My stepson loves to get adjusted and calls it the "pops." Between the two children, I keep very busy around the house.
I enjoy playing all sports and doing volunteer coaching for youth soccer, football, and t-ball. I am obsessed with all things soccer (football as it is properly named), mostly on the European continent. I love to stay active both physically and mentally. I attend seminars to keep abreast on the current research.
As a Chiropractor, I love to see the change in people’s lives. I enjoy when my patients grasp the rewarding experience and life-giving power the adjustment offers them. The plain and simple truth is this: The power that made the body is the power that heals the body. It is through a lifetime of Chiropractic care that our bodies can utilize its innate ability of the nervous system. My desire is for everyone to experience for themselves the power of the adjustment and feel what it is like to live a life with optimum health. We only get one go around in life. Let us all keep our bodies in the best condition to take advantage and enjoy every moment.
