Introducing Carmel Chiropractor Dr. Brean Symmonds

After Chiropractic Care changed my life, I knew I had found the profession I wanted to dedicate my life to.

I was diagnosed with Scoliosis at the age of 13. My School Nurse did a routine test and noticed that while bending forward the musculature of my back was much more developed on the right side. I went home that day and told my parents what the Nurse had said. There was no further instruction from the School Nurse and the topic seemed forgotten.

Three years later, while a sophomore in High School, I began to notice some discomfort in my back. After time passed, the problem began to affect my daily activities. After sitting at school all day my back would hurt severely. If I didn’t have time to lay down and rest after school, I would be in too much pain to do anything that evening. The problem affected my moods and I became very irritable. Often I would go to bed early so I would feel better.

When I was a freshman in college my life was changed by Chiropractic. I met a Doctor of Chiropractic who explained to me that the Nervous System controls every muscle, organ, tissue, and cell in the Human Body. When a Doctor of Chiropractic gives a spinal adjustment to correct a Vertebral Subluxation, your body has less stress and increased function. I received my first adjustment at age 19, and then immediately began a routine schedule of Chiropractic Care that I continue today.

When I was first introduced to Chiropractic, I knew I had discovered the profession I wanted to dedicate my life to. I feel it is my mission to educate everyone that Chiropractic Care is essential to all ages. Doctors of Chiropractic often see people after they have been living with spinal misalignments for many years. If only every child could receive Chiropractic Check-ups from birth, it could avoid the emotional distress and the financial burden that occurs when healthcare turns into “disease-care.”

I received my Doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. As an Outstanding Clinician, I was chosen among my peers to travel abroad and provide Chiropractic Care to the residents of Bahia, Brazil. While studying to become a Doctor of Chiropractic, I received extensive training in various Chiropractic Techniques including Gonstead, Diversified, Activator, Thompson, and Lumbar Flexion-Distraction Techniques. I knew I would enjoy Chiropractic as a profession because I think the Human Body is the most fascinating thing to learn about.

As a Doctor of Chiropractic, I have a mission to improve my patients’ health and bring them to an optimum level of self-confidence and well-being. Chiropractic Care focuses on the whole person by increasing the life force within. I believe that a sound mind and body are intertwined. To achieve your optimal potential and purpose in life you must be healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually. My goal is to share with others the miracle they truly are through a lifetime of Chiropractic Care.

In my spare time I love to exercise, read, and relax. Previously I have been very involved in Coordinating and Volunteering for Community Service Events. From Organizing a Blood Drive, to delivering Thanksgiving dinners to needy families, I find great joy in helping others find hope. I have worked with wonderful organizations including Gildas Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Toys for Tots, and the John Lewis Soup Kitchen.

After pursuing my degree in Exercise Science at Western Illinois University, I understand that there is definitely a relationship between exercise, nutrition, posture, muscle imbalance, and quality of life. When first introduced to Chiropractic, I knew I had discovered the healing profession that would change lives, including my own.

Health and Fitness have always been important to me. As a Doctor and a Health Coach, I help others understand the huge impact we have on our own destiny by our daily lifestyle choices. Today I am committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and continue to find new and exciting ways to keep active. I enjoy running, weight-lifting, yoga, pilates, and going outdoors for a walk on a beautiful day. Finding time to exercise is an important priority for everyone to release stress, reorganize thoughts, and be the best individual you can be.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenges. Chiropractic Care and Wellness is Essential to keep your Nervous System functioning at 100%.
